The Love List is a creative living dispatch where I share a little overview of my month and links and things I loved. I believe focusing our energy toward the things we love, the things that delight us, that which we find beautiful - is healing and important - even when times are tough. Especially then. If you enjoy it, please subscribe, hit the heart button, restack, share, or leave a comment and tell me what you loved this month!
In June:
I collected a bunch of stuff from the yard and glued it onto a little ceramic candle holder and made a fairy house. And then I made second one out of a shabby wooden birdhouse. Did any fairies move in? I don’t know, but I hope so.
We cleared the vines out of a little section of our yard that we’ve never really utilized before and put down mulch and a new bed - and planted vegetables - so it’s our farm now.
I went on an excursion to Louisville with my mother to meet Dean Willis and hear him speak.
We celebrated Rocky’s 13th birthday!
We had goldfinch visitors to the sunflowers.
I’ve also seen brown thrashers in our garden several times. (I’d never seen them befoe and didn’t even know they existed until now.)
We celebrated Father’s Day on a super hot afternoon.
I made cardboard sun masks for the solstice.
The fledgling red tail hawk who lives behind our house learned to fly. He likes to sit on top of our roof and screech. (We moved our bird feeders underneath the magnolia tree to give the songbirds a little cover.)

I think about the Dojo tofu burger with carrot ginger dressing almost daily. Seriously, I loved that place and that plate so much. I’m going to try to make it! I’ll keep you posted.
Listen, June was intense - on a collective and personal level. This is a reminder to you and to me - to breathe, ground, and rest. Here we go, right into the heart of summer. I hope you’re having a good one. (And please, if you know any witchcraft to make these heat go away, could you do that? Okay. Thanks. Love you. Bye.)
See you next month!
