The March Love List: I watched, read, saw, and experienced this month
It’s the last day of March and time for me to tell you about some things I loved this month. (This month’s list is lengthy, meaning the message will be clipped in your inbox. To open the this post in a new window and read all of it, click “view entire message” at the bottom of the email. ❤️)
Last year when we planted our Witch Hazel, we didn’t know how old it was, so we didn’t know when it would bloom. Guess what? It was this year! It smelled amazing.
We had some unseasonably hot days this month. I don’t love that, but it meant we were out there a little earlier this year, thinking about planting.

One warm afternoon, I walked down to the corner store. There was a Bluegrass band playing outside and inside, the owner had just taken chocolate chip cookies out of the oven. It was a sweet and clear moment that reminded me of human goodness.

On the first day of March, Oscar Eve if you will, we rented Conclave. It was so visually stunning, it made me wish we’d seen it on the big screen as intended. As for the Oscar ceremony itself, Isabella Rosellini sitting there in blue velvet next to Laura Dern paying homage to David Lynch made me cry.
I’ve been listening to HYUKOH & Sunset Rollercoaster - AAA and Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings -Woodland.
I was absolutely captivated by Ione Skye’s memoir Say, Everything. I mean, I love this book. It’s so good, so well written, so generous - and I recommend listening to the audio book so you can hear her voice telling you her story.
My other obsession this month was Severance. This show has changed television forever, right? I mean, this is what art is for. The final episode of season 2 was breathtaking. “They gave us a half a life and think we won’t fight for it.”

I made a carrot cake for Tracy’s birthday and we went on some birthday outings.
We took Rocky on an outing to Wild Birds and Wilson’s and bought a rain chain and three patchouli plants. I don’t think I’d ever seen a patchouli plant before, but now they are on the kitchen windowsill waiting for their moment to go in the ground.
I urge you to look at this. It’s time to acknowledge what’s actually happening here.

In case you missed them - this month’s posts:
Hi Lori-Lyn-
I really enjoy your monthly Love Lists. I remember reading them quite some time ago on your blog, losing track at some point and then found you recently here. I have also enjoyed your videos and appreciated yesterday's video chat that was public. I popped in and then had to pop right back out due to a work obligation but I watched the recording later in the evening. (apologies for leaving so quickly without a word!) I was already feeling the effects of this full moon last night (& I think one of my dogs was as well!). Thank you for sharing here.
