It’s the last day of January. Here are some things I loved this month (+ some things I didn’t.)
In our corner of the world, we started off the month with a big snow and ice storm followed by frigid temperatures. We were iced-in while we watched the horrors of the fires in Los Angeles unfold.
There was more snow and more bitter cold. And then, David Lynch died. “Fix your hearts or die.”
And then…
For obvious reasons, I am thinking about human suffering and psychological warfare and how our liberation comes through love. We each have a different role to play, and we are far from powerless.
I recently heard a great suggestion - that we could start putting canned foods, copies of the Constitution, banned books, and artwork in our tiny libraries. There are two tiny libraries in my neighborhood and I’m wondering about building one for my own front yard.
My first podcast listen of the new year was a good one, Culture Study The Rise of Therapy Speak.
I read and loved:
How Our Thoughts Affect War and Peace

I, too, wish I’d never gotten rid of my overalls.
Tracy and I watched the entire first season of Extraordinary Attorney Woo and we are hoping for a second season, but also branching out now into more K-drama.
I finished my Sex and the City rewatch and I’m currently rewatching Twin Peaks.

I went out - into the actual world - to see what sort of Valentine stuff I could find at the thrifts, but inventory was low.
I crave this level of organization.
So that’s a wrap on January, and what a long month it has been. The time to take care of ourselves and one another is always now. My friends, do not lose heart. Stand up and show your soul. Anchor the love. Be who you came here to be. (And thank you for bringing yourself here.)
I’m Lori-Lyn - a writer and artist who believes in living creatively, dreaming intuitively, and rooting into the cosmic dance of energy, nature, and story. I write Creative Living Diaries and my in-progress memoir, Cosmic Heart.
In case you missed them - this month’s posts:
I’m going to be showing up less on Meta platforms and more here on Substack, Youtube, and BlueSky. I also have a website. 👩🏻💻
We’re rewatching Twin Peaks too, what a loss in David Lynch. Not as much as Bowie, but very sad.😢
